Welcome to our 8th and final Gift Guide, GIVING, to give from yourself or on behalf of others!
We hope you learn about some local organizations you weren’t aware of, and can research them! Each listing should be linked from the title and image if you want to go to one of the sites.
We are doing 8 days of posts with 8 different categories. Each post/ category will also feature a giveaway from one or more of the highlighted businesses. To enter each one, you can comment on the blog post, or share our linked post on Facebook or Instagram! We will do the drawings for ALL posts on 12/20/22 in the evening.
***There will be one grand prize pack drawing. Those who comment on all 8 posts in the series will be entered for that!
We know there are so many wonderful and deserving organizations out there to support. Here are just a few that we support! Feel free to list others in the comments!
AMY’S RAYS OF SUNSHINE
Amy Steeves of Apex, NC, founded this organization after having to have bone marrow transplants. When undergoing bone marrow transplants, patients must stay isolated in the hospital for 3 or more months to avoid infection. While she was in the hospital, she received a giant box of cards from family and friends to keep her spirits up. She decided to start an organization where they did the same for patients. Monetary donations, card drives, and making single cards are welcome ways to contribute!
APEX PUBLIC SCHOOL FOUNDATION
The APSF is a nonprofit organization that maintains a fund to enhance the educational experience for students at Apex-area schools within the Wake County school district. Teachers have to dip into their own funds too much, so APSF gives teacher grants often for particular projects and in general. They are always looking for volunteers for special initiatives, the Board of Directors, or financial supporters. Positively Apex is a Bronze level sponsor this year!
BE THE RAINBOW
The Reynolds family of Apex, NC, started this organization as a result of their daughter Charlotte’s fight against cancer. Charlotte gets to help with the cause as well, to help families who have children fighting cancer. The best way to help is to make a financial donation and spread the word!
DOG WARRIORS
Dog Warriors Rescue, of Cary, NC, tries their best to save as many unwanted dogs as they can in the area. If you need a new pup in your life, they always have a ton in need of placement. Don’t want to commit? They are always in need of fosters and people to transport dogs from other areas. And of course, the best way to help is to donate money, which pays for vet care for all of their dogs.
EMI’S ENCHANTED EVENTS
Krystal, the owner of business Party Like a Princess LLC, recently started Emi’s Enchanted Events. The organization delivers support to children and their families that are battling an illness or going through a difficult life circumstance. It was inspired by sweet Emi, who battled Pulmonary Hypertension, but unfortunately passed away recently. Her beautiful legacy will live on to help other kids in our area, sort of like a small Make a Wish. The biggest help currently is with a financial contribution and spreading the word!
HELENE FOUNDATION
This Durham, NC, based organization provides immediate support for mothers fighting cancer to positively impact families. It is completely volunteer and donation run. We chose them as one of our highlighted charities for our Halloween event and Giving Tuesday.
HORSE AND BUDDY
Based in New Hill, NC, and run by Janet Mason, their mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with diverse needs through equine assisted therapies and activities in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment. They depend on donations of money and supplies. Check out their website!
MABOPANE FOUNDATION
Based in Apex, NC, the mission of the Mabopane foundation, or Mabopane Kids as it is commonly known, is to provide funding for Christ-centered care and hope to orphaned and vulnerable children in Mabopane, South Africa. They have a house on Hwy 64 where they hold regular yard sales to raise money for the cause. They can use volunteers, money, and household items for their sales!
MILITARY MISSIONS IN ACTION
Based in Fuquay-Varina, NC, MMIA is dedicated to assisting Veterans in need, members of all Armed Forces, and their loving supporting families. If this is a cause near and dear to you they are always in need of volunteers and financial donations!
N2 GIVES
The corporate franchise company behind Greet Friendship magazine, The N2 Co, has a division called N2 Gives. 2% of all revenue goes to various organizations that fight human trafficking. It’s a rampant problem that is here in the Triangle, NC, unfortunately. Know the signs and educate yourself and your children.
PEAK BEGINNINGS
I recently learned of this new organization in Apex, NC. They strive to provide opportunities for children from under-resourced families to gain the skills and confidence needed to reach their unique potential, by offering free early childhood education in a Christ-centered, nurturing, and stable environment. They could use volunteers and financial contributions. Let’s help make them a staple in our community!
PEAK LAB RESCUE
Another dog rescue is Peak Lab Rescue, in Apex, NC. They focus on Labs and Lab mixes. If you are a Labrador Retriever lover, then they can use your help volunteering, adopting, fostering, and with donations!
SHIELD NC
Another organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking, but right here in Apex, NC! Their goal is to Prevent, Empower, and Advocate to fight in our backyards to keep the unthinkable from happening. Get involved or donate today!
WESTERN WAKE CRISIS MINISTRY
This food pantry in Apex, NC, not only helps the needy from going without food, but also helps with other necessities like utility bills. Their mission is partnering with those in crisis, helping them gain stability through basic supports for food, financial/housing assistance, education, and opportunity. They can always use food and financial donations, as well as volunteers!
ZACH’S TOY CHEST
Holly Schwab of Holly Springs, NC, started this organization that helps pediatric patients smile one kid at a time. Their oldest son battled childhood cancer starting at 10 months old. They are run by volunteers, and need help all the time. They also are always collecting toys for the patients, as well as monetary donations!
There you have it- my top picks with local organizations for GIVING. Any of these organizations would be great for some end of year donations.
This GIVEAWAY includes: a $25 donation to one of the highlighted organizations of winner’s choice in their name!
